As a former CEO, she brings a level of passion and empathy to her coaching practice helping CEOs and Founders bring their business and teams to a new level of growth and peace. Having done it herself, Barb has a deep understanding of how to implement and scale using metronomics. This experience provides the teams she works with some incredible insights that accelerate solving key scale-up issues early.

Having scaled a company globally and supported leadership through both expansion and burnout, Barb can relate to her clients and helps them unlock clarity, regain control, and move forward with confidence. Barb brings over 20 years of executive leadership experience, including her time as CEO of Response Biomedical Corporation, where she transformed the company into a global diagnostics leader. She has led cross-border commercial deals, licensing agreements, and investment strategies, and has supported a public, private, and PE-backed business through fundraising and exits.

Barb works especially well with CEOs and founders who feel stuck or stretched thin, and suffer from decision fatigue. Her coaching blends strategy, structure, and support—helping leaders align their teams, strengthen culture, and execute at a higher level without burning out. Helping leaders rebuild balance in their lives where business and family can co-exist with ease. She believes the best leaders don’t have to go it alone—they just need the right coaching partner.

She holds a Ph.D. in Microbiology and Immunology and is Dare to Lead™ trained having transitioned from individual contributor to CEO, she can empathize with the whole team and how they are individually impacted by strategy and culture. Barb also serves as a board director at Acetech (CEOs helping CEOs) and as an investment advisor for Genome BC. Outside of work, you’ll find her skiing, swimming, kayaking, hiking the BC trails or mentoring emerging leaders.
