Bruce Eckfeldt is an Inc. 500 CEO with over two decades of experience in Lean/Agile product development and business consulting/coaching. He is an expert in software, finance, professional services, real estate, and cannabis businesses and working with multi-national and distributed teams.
Bruce's path to coaching started in architecture. Trained at McGill University in Montreal, he developed a foundation in systems thinking, pattern recognition, and design, skills that would shape his entire career.After graduating, Bruce was recruited to New York to work in interactive media, applying his 3D modeling and spatial design skills to the emerging digital landscape. He spent over a decade in the agency world, working with some of the top brands in the US and Europe, including Motorola, WebMD, and Prada, leading teams in digital product strategy, user experience, and technology development.In 2003, he founded his own Lean/Agile software development agency. Over the next decade, Bruce scaled the company onto the Inc. 500/5000 list five years running, navigating the growth challenges, leadership team dynamics, and operational complexity that come with building a professional services business.He exited the business in 2013 and shifted his focus to coaching, bringing firsthand experience as a founder and CEO to the work he does with leadership teams today. Bruce coaches on strategic planning, leadership team development, and exit preparation, drawing on certifications in Metronomics, Scaling Up, Predictive Index, and exit planning (CEPA).Bruce is the author of the forthcoming Springboard: A Founder's Guide to Selling Your Company (Spring 2026), host of the From Angel to Exit podcast, and has been a contributor to Inc.com since 2017 with over 200 published articles on leadership, strategy, and growth.Outside of work, Bruce is an avid outdoor adventurer. He skis, climbs, hikes, and cycles whenever he can get out of the city. He continues to engage in fine arts, including drawing, painting, and photography, keeping his creative roots alive. He lives in New York City and is the father of four children
